Royal Decree of Autonomy
Preamble
This brave new world, thrust upon Us by unyielding expansion and unsustainable consumption, is acceptable only if we are prepared for our own extinction in exchange. If the human species manages to survive expanding deserts, rising seas, harvest failures, droughts, floods, forest fires, storms of increasing severity and frequency, and the escalating tensions between nuclear powers, suffering and death en masse are still inevitable certitudes. Absurd wealth inequality and a militarized police force seemingly make that the destiny for any and all of Us below millionaire status. But, perhaps together as a community united under a single banner of focused, effortful energy We can compete and thrive without and within this system of predatory capitalism.
Enumeration of Offenses
Long is list of grievances against and offences committed by the United States Oligarchy that has prompted Our desire and search for an alternative, self-sufficient, and sustainable lifestyle. The history of the present United States is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an oligarchical police state over the People. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world:
(1) It has submitted to the pressures and influence of monetary gain creating an observable oligarchy.
(2) It has enabled, encouraged and thus perpetuated, an economy and culture of predatory capitalism.
(3) Its Electoral College is a remnant of slavery that disenfranchises citizens of certain states and has gone against the will of the people twice in recent living memory.
(4) Its commonality of gerrymandering voting districts prevents certain citizens from casting meaningful ballots.
(5) It has placed its citizens under mass surveillance without cause and without adding anything of substance to national security.
(6) It employs and contracts private for-profit prisons creating a demand for prisoners.
(7) It incarcerates more people than any other nation both in total number and per capita.
(8) Its police are literally trained to first and foremost view its citizens all as potential threats, as the enemies in the “War on Cops.”
(9) Its police routinely escape consequences for brutality, abuse of power, and murder.
(10) Its police have been militarized against civilians and excused under the pretenses of fighting terrorism.
(11) Its Senators carried out open treason against a sitting president by denying him the constitutional right of nominating a Supreme Court justice.
(12) It has opted for the neglect and on occasion wholesale destruction of programs that are wholesome and necessary for the public good.
(13) It has voluntarily neglected infrastructure resulting in water contamination in areas across the country.
(14) It is willing and exerting great effort to deprive citizens of health care whilst giving more wealth to those who need it least.
(15) It has become phobic, and the antitheses, of reason: repeating, defending, and endorsing demonstrably false claims at the expense of public health, national security, and the general public good.
(16) It has on occasion barred the press from White House briefings and undermined the “Fourth Estate” in ways unbecoming and dangerous of a government, or individual officials.
(17) It has released false statements to further undermine the legitimacy of elections.
(18) It has opted to both tacitly and overtly endorse discrimination and a blind, rabid nationalism.
(19) It has committed war crimes and aided genocides in several nations.
In every stage of these oppressions We have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. Protestors are assaulted, arrested, and demonized; the courts have rebuked justice by failing to bring charges, let alone convictions, against officers whose use of unreasonable force resulted in fatality. A government whose character is thus marked by every act which may define fascism, oligarchy, or a police state alone, and especially in conjunction, is unfit to govern a free people.
Summation
As contemporary civilization continues to sequester most of the entire world’s wealth into the possession of only a handful of individuals, the rest of us compete for their scraps within a system that fosters lifelong dependency on that same decaying, toxic system instead of self-sufficiency and freedom, We must be compelled to act, for We are obligated to act. These States particularly have a festering rot decaying everything from infrastructure and efforts for energy independence to education and the economy; from health care and financial security to food and environment issues – the very essentials for life itself are contaminated then sold to us for a profit. However, together as One, united as the Kingdom of Justonia and committed to its Constitution, and to each other, We can forge a more perfect life for ourselves and be a force of positive change for others within the larger world.
